The Himalayan Institute is a world leader in the field of yoga, meditation, spirituality, and holistic health, the Himalayan Institute is a non-profit international organization dedicated to serving humanity through educational, spiritual, and humanitarian programs. Their 400-acre campus is nestled in the beautiful Pocono Mountains, making it a wonderful sanctuary to relax, restore, and nourish.
Daily practices will be suitable for all level of practitioners, even beginners, with the goal of both restoration and rejuvenation. Variations and modifications will be offered. Students should notify Maura of any injuries, illness, etc that inform their current practice.
Your accommodations are booked separately, directly through the Himalayan Institute. The design is conscious simplicity - clean and simple rooms with a minimal, peaceful design. A full refund will be issued to guests who cancel within 21 days of retreat, 50% within 14 days of retreat. We are unable to offer a refund if guests cancel within 13 days of retreat start date. Yes, please bring your own mat. The Himalayan Institute supplies all the props we will need for the weekend.
Your specific schedule will be emailed two weeks prior to retreat. Generally speaking, the hours of 1-4p are best for services. Or arriving early Thursday, leaving later Sunday.
Retreats are wonderful experiences - to reconnect with yourself and meet like minded people. You'll be hooked after your first retreat. Know that many are in a similar situation - new to retreats, nervous to be amongst strangers or traveling alone. You are welcome to hang with the group or snag some precious alone time. I'm a pro at making folks feel welcomed and comfortable to make the decisions best for them.
